Why Not Choose a Rare Elegant Adirondack Floor?</h3>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 10px;">
<img alt="Adirondack Wood Floors" height="25" src="http://www.theadirondackwoodfloorco.com/img/leaf_boarder.png" style="border: 0px; height: auto; max-width: 100%; padding-bottom: 10px; vertical-align: middle; width: 690px;" width="631" /></div>

<a href="http://www.theadirondackwoodfloorco.com/camp_huntington.html#" style="color: #d23919; text-decoration: none;"></a>Adirondack Gummy Cherry, considered an American Exotic, is one of the most sought-after of the Adirondack hardwoods. A stunning hardwood, known for its beautiful range of color, simple grain, and satiny texture spanning the spectrum of reds and browns. Over time, the tone deepens to a rich auburn and shows gold and reddish highlights creating a visual treat. The color variation occurs greater and at a quicker rate with this species.</div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 10px;">
Adirondack Gummy Cherry is a moderately dense wood, with a close grain and a fine, even texture and uniformly straight grain that adds warmth and character to any home.</div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 10px;">
Average tree height is 60 to 80 feet. Cherry trees can live to the extreme ages of 150 to 200 years. The oldest cherry tree known to science had reached to the extreme age of 258 years.</div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 10px;">
<strong style="font-weight: bold;"><em style="font-style: italic;">Gummy cherry differs from standard cherry in that the wood grain is full of sap pockets and brown streaks that give the wood a very elegant figured look. If you are looking for something truly unique and in short supply then Gummy Cherry may be the perfect choice for you.</em></strong></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 10px;">
Because of the unique graining and coloring of American Cherry flooring, many homeowners like to use it in wider planks. Planks 5 IN. and wider will show the natural beauty of American Cherry, but won't look too busy, like it might in a 2-1/4 IN. strip.</div>
<div style="line-height: 22.1000003814697px;">
<div class="preview" style="line-height: 1.6em; padding-left: 80px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 10px;">
Our flooring is engineered with a 4.5mm wear layer to best maximize the use of this wood. That wear layer is engineered to the plywood base, which supports it for superior structural stability, leading to minimal expansion and contraction, creating a floor with a long life. </div>

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Engineered Hardwood Floors are more stable and versatile than a solid plank wood floor or a laminate. They are more resistant to humidity and moisture which makes them perfect for an area where dampness occurs such as a basement or radiant heating situation that might cause a solid hard wood floor to dry-out, shrink, cup or buckle.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Engineered hardwood Floors will expand and contract with moisture because the optimal 4.5 mm wear layer is attached to either an 11ply or a 9 Ply CARB rated plywood (depending on thickness).</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2qSTYeR-g7w/UwpqsLQ5XVI/AAAAAAAAAB4/a4bCTfYBTr4/s1600/engineered_hardwood_02.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2qSTYeR-g7w/UwpqsLQ5XVI/AAAAAAAAAB4/a4bCTfYBTr4/s1600/engineered_hardwood_02.png" height="163" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<h2>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">The key to our 100 Year Floor is the 4.5 mm wear layer</span></h2>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Some of the most beautiful wood floors in the world are the old Victorian wood floors you see in older homes from the turn of the century.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4_9CbbO9P2k/Uwpqrwi_UfI/AAAAAAAAAB0/DzayK-Or9JY/s1600/engineered_hardwood_01.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4_9CbbO9P2k/Uwpqrwi_UfI/AAAAAAAAAB0/DzayK-Or9JY/s1600/engineered_hardwood_01.png" height="163" width="320" /></span></a><span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">Our 4.5 mm wear layer creates this classic look, and allows 4 sandings creating the optimal wear thickness while creating a structural sound and stable floor!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">If the wear layer was any thicker it would overcome the plywood and create the possibility of cupping and bowing.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">If the wear layer was any thinner the floor would have less life and would need to be replaced before the 100 year mark!</span><br />
